In response to the crisis caused by the suspension of natural gas imports from Russia, the government envisages several concrete measures to help businesses and households. During the expert advisory council on fuels, Minister Kornelia Ninova announced that the abolition of excise duties on gas and electricity and finding alternative supplies and compensation mechanisms were being considered.

The Council is a permanent advisory body to the Minister of Economy, but had not been convened for 2 years. Today, the participants discussed proposals for changes in the Law on Administrative Regulation of Economic Activities Related to Oil and Petroleum Products.
