Easter Monday marks the beginning of the Bright Week, in which the Church glorifies the Holy Apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is a time when the Resurrection of Jesus Christ brings enlightenment and hope of eternal life to all. Each of these seven days is dedicated to different saints. The Bright Week ends with Sunday of St. Thomas when the Church recalls how Christ appeared in front of St. Thomas.

In some places in Bulgaria a folk custom exists for young people roll dyed eggs on a meadow. The tradition is for fertility and to prevent hail.

Swings have a special place in the festive folk rituals this week, as they also have a strong protective and magical meaning. The content of the songs performed includes the themes of water, fertility and future marriages.

On the border between winter and spring, the world welcomes a new beginning, celebrates the resurrection of nature, youth and beauty.
