Weather forecast: Temperatures drop, rain, in the mountains - snow

During the next 24 hours there will be a substantial change in the weather. During the night the wind will pick up and turn from the Northeast - in Northern and Eastern Bulgaria the wind will be temporarily strong and will usher in cold air. There will be clouds and rain. As temperatures drop, on Sunday evening and during the night the rain will be mingled with snow in Northeastern Bulgaria, the territory between the Balkan Range and the Danube Plain, and the high plains of Western Bulgaria.

Tomorrow, there will be considerable rain in many places around the country. Temperatures will drop as the day progresses – morning temperatures will range from 8° C. - 13° C., in Sofia 10°. By nightfall temperatures will drop to 2° C. - 3° C. in the Northwestern parts, and 7° C. - 8° C. in Southeastern Bulgaria, for Sofia around 3° C.  

Over the mountains there will be clouds, fog and snow, below 1,200 m. there will be rain in the morning, but as temperatures drop the rain will turn to snow, in the mountains of Western and Central Bulgaria the snowfall will be significant. By evening the wind will be moderate to strong and as it turns from the Northeast, there will be blizzards. The wind will usher in cold air and temperatures will drop to around 3° C. at 2 PM at an altitude of 1,200 m., at 2,000 m. – minus 2° C.
