The position of the Bulgarian side, as well as of the European Commission, remains firm - possible payments in rubles are a violation of the contractual relations between Bulgargaz and Gazprom Export. Upon maturity of the contract, payments continue to be made in dollars, as required by the contract. This was answered to BTA by the Bulgarian Ministry of Energy on the occasion of the request of the Russian company "Gazprom Export" for payments for gas supplies to be made in rubles.

Today, during the parliamentary control session, Bulgaria's Minister of Energy Alexander Nikolov stated that a legal review of the request of the Russian company was being made.
