Radev expressed his gratitude to his compatriots in Portugal for establishing the name of their homeland in the best way with their leading role in a number of areas such as science, teaching, medicine, economics, IT business, sports and culture.

According to official Portuguese statistics, the Bulgarian community numbers 6,839 people. But there are many more Bulgarians in the country, because some of them already have Portuguese citizenship.
