Nearly 80,000 Ukrainian citizens have arrived in Bulgaria

A total of 79,700 refugees from the war in Ukraine are currently in Bulgaria, as 60,800 of them have already received temporary protection status. According to the portal "Bulgaria for Ukraine", 171,800 Ukrainian refugees have crossed the Bulgarian borders since the beginning of the war.

The Employment Agency has provided consultation to more than 4,100 Ukrainians, while more than 2,000 are already seeking help from labor offices in order to start work. Nearly 70 percent of Ukrainians polled say they are ready to start work immediately. Half of them say that they have accommodation for a long stay in Bulgaria, 42 percent have accommodation for a period of one month, and nine percent do not have one yet.

953 Ukrainian citizens have started working under an employment contract in Bulgaria from February 24 to April 7, data from the National Revenue Agency show.
