Bulgaria’s authorities denied information in Russian media that the Bulgarian bulk carrier Tsarevna was seized by Ukrainian forces in the seaport of Mariupol.

The seventeen Bulgarian sailors onboard the vessel are well and we are in constant contact with them, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said for the BNR. Referring to pro-Russian separatists from Donetsk, the Russian state news agency TASS reported that Tsarevna and Lady Augusta ships were seized by Ukrainian forces. According to TASS, the Ukrainian forces took the crew hostage and are firing from the decks.
