Bulgaria's Minister of Defence Dragomir Zakov stated before the Parliamentary Committee on Defence that there was no movement of military equipment through Bulgaria to Ukraine. "The information that Bulgarian tanks are being exported to Ukraine and Bulgarian soldiers are going to the frontline is being used to instill fear in society," he said.
The minister also said that his ministry was considering options for providing fighters before the arrival of the purchased F-16s. Another possibility being discussed is to extend the life of the MiG-29, but not to work with Russia and Belarus.
Dragomir Zakov assured that the Bulgarian navy has sufficient capacity to monitor and dispose of mines. .
