Forest Week kicks off in Bulgaria

Traditionally, in early April, foresters in Bulgaria mark Forest Week. This year it is held from April 4 to 10 under the motto: "I ♥ THE FOREST!".

On this occasion, forest structures throughout the country organize campaigns dedicated to the forest, mass clearing and afforestation, creative workshops for children, seminars, talks and exhibitions on forests.
The first campaigns dedicated to the holiday are already underway, and the children sent hundreds of works dedicated to the forest, as well as videos with their performance of the anthem of the forest - "You are beautiful, my forest."

Among them is the traditional children's camp for children in the Bakadjika protected area, where groups of 10 children divided into three-day camp shifts learn curious details about forest dwellers. With the help of environmentalists, the kids get acquainted with the habitats of seven species of bats and amphibians - the black marsh turtle, the European fire-bellied toad, the southern crested newt and others in the Natura 2000 protected area.
