President Rumen Radev expects the government to take the necessary steps so that the lifting of the moratorium on electricity prices on April 1 will not affect consumers.
On his part, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov stated that the price of electricity will not go up. According to him, the EU must operate on the world markets as one buyer so the price shock can be restrained.
“I want to hear the government’s view on how household consumers will enter the free market,” President Radev said further. “I hope this step will not be rash, as was the case two years ago when small and medium-sized businesses entered the free market – and they are still recovering from it.”
