No food shortage expected in Bulgaria due to the war in Ukraine

There will be no food crisis, Plamen Abrovski, chairman of the parliamentary committee on agriculture, told the BNR.

It clarified that the purchase of grain announced by the government has not started yet. 
"We need such a strategic grain reserve. The process of food shortages at the global level began a long time ago. There is famine in Africa. In case of interruption of grain supplies from Ukraine, migration processes may start, which will increase the pressure on France, Spain, Italy," Abrovsky explained.
"Buying for the next year is a bit more, but such a reserve and a serious buffer will be good, because at the moment the grain is no different from a convertible currency," said Abrowski.
