"Before starting to collect debts, the company will have to notify the debtor and invite them to voluntarily pay the money, as a possibility for contesting is envisaged," Deputy Prime Minister Korneliya Ninova said. In addition, it is forbidden for the collectors to ask for a larger amount than the obligation, to call at homes of debtors from 8 pm to 7 am, to place information about the debtors in public places. The bill provides for hefty fines in case of violations.
