The number of Ukrainian citizens with temporary protection status in Bulgaria is now over 19 thousand. The increase is 2,800 people in just one day, show data of the Unified Portal "Bulgaria for Ukraine". The number of Ukrainian citizens seeking asylum in Bulgaria is 56,660, 22,000 of whom are children.

In a joint humanitarian action by the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria and the Association of Bulgarians in Ukraine, 49 Ukrainians of Bulgarian origin were evacuated from Mariupol. Coordinators believe it will be possible to evacuate two more buses of people fleeing the hostilities.

The Bulgarian state is currently developing a mechanism whereby Ukrainian citizens with temporary protection status will receive one-off vouchers worth 100 leva (50 euro) for food and basic necessities. If they have address registration, they will be entitled to other benefits.
