President Rumen Radev and his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda, who is paying a visit to Bulgaria, have called for energy independence from Russian gas supplies.

“Russia is now demonstrating what military terror is, though before that it demonstrated what energy blackmail is,” the Polish President said. On his part, Bulgaria’s President Radev pointed out that connectivity from Greece to Romania via Bulgaria must be improved, and a system of pipelines built across the entire Eastern flank of NATO.

“Some of these projects can be implemented using NATO’s financial mechanisms, something which the countries of the region will insist upon at the upcoming summit in two days’ time,” Rumen Radev said.
