The measure to support employers in relation to the coronavirus pandemic is likely to be dropped, said Finance Minister Assen Vassilev. The 60/40 financial instrument will be discontinued once it expires, as there will be no reason to reactivate it.
During question time, Vassilev pointed out to the MPs that the funding extends until three months after the end of the epidemic situation and the pandemic, i.e. until 30 June.
According to the Finance Minister, if the incidence continues to decline, there will be almost no anti-Covid measures in April, May, and June, so there will be no necessity for the 60/40 measure to be reactivated. Vassilev reminded that a new budget revision is due in the middle of the year, in which more funds should be earmarked for compensation in the tourism sector.
