Questions for Bulgarian intelligence services over wrong forecasts about Ukraine

Information coming from the Bulgarian special services is not always correct, the co-chair of "Democratic Bulgaria" and deputy speaker of parliament Gen. Atanas Atanasov said at a briefing. There had been statements made by heads of state that Russia would invade Ukraine, the general, who is part of the ruling coalition, recalled.

"Our predictions are that no large-scale military conflict should be expected in the short term." "A large-scale Russian offensive is unrealistic in the coming months." "We do not share expectations about a large-scale refugee wave." These conclusions were made by the special services before the start of the war in Ukraine, Atanasov was quoted as saying. He added he would ask in parliament whether the Bulgarian services had reliable sources of information.
