Bulgarian entrepreneurs called on the government to change the power price compensation scheme and abolish the energy aid ceiling. The nationally represented employers' organizations call for a meeting with Bulgaria’s Premier and ministers to negotiate emergency measures in the energy field.

In their view, Bulgarian producers are facing bankruptcies because of the crisis stemming from the war in Ukraine. Today, the price of electricity for non-household consumers has been fluctuating between EUR 420 and EUR 598 per MWh. In the coming days, non-household electricity prices are expected to reach EUR 800 per MWh, representatives of the Bulgarian Industrial Association noted and warned of high unemployment, social tensions and economic collapse.
