Bulgaria distances itself from sanctions it cannot afford to impose

The government would not support sanctions against Russia that are harmful to our country, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said in parliament. "We have been discussing each sanction separately, not in bulk. We support the sanctions we can afford, because it is not right for this war to exist. But, if oil from Russia stops, then we have a problem," Petkov said.

The lie that Bulgaria was exporting weapons to Ukraine is a threat to the country's national security, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Korneliya Ninova said in parliament. She pointed out that Bulgaria was not participating in hostilities with weapons and dual-use goods and called for an end to these speculations.
