She called on the global community to help Ukraine and stop Russian President Vladimir Putin. In her words, people are shocked and many are seeking refuge in Western Europe.
“A real war broke out here. We are very peaceful and just want to live. A national state of emergency has been declared. We woke up at 5 am by the sound of explosions. A fighter aircraft was shot down not far from our home in Kyiv. Ukrainian military warehouses have been destroyed in many districts. We live near the military airport in Vasylkiv. 7 missiles have been fired against the airport. We have not attacked anyone and we had no such plans. We have children, but today, all schools are closed. Children are scared and we are trying to comfort them. We are very peaceful, but we will protect our Ukraine until the last drop of blood.”
