The Bulgarian government is to propose an update to the budget in six months, as during that time it will be investigating all deficits accumulated since the "collapse" in recent years, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov says.

At a meeting, the government approved the financing of 3 projects for the army. The modernization of the old T-72 tanks using Israeli technology in a Bulgarian state-owned company would cost 85 million euros, cabinet spokesperson Lena Borislavova said. Separately, 36 million euros are provided for new radio equipment of tanks according to NATO standards. 30 million euros will go for the completion of the project for off-road and armored vehicles of the special forces.

The three projects were launched in 2020 by the previous regular government.
