The National Security Advisory Council must provide guarantees for the protection of the Bulgarian community in Ukraine, if tensions escalate and a military conflict occurs, Bulgaria’s Vice President Iliana Yotova said in the town of Suhindol where she took part in the traditional vine-pruning ritual.

"The Bulgarian community in Ukraine is our largest historical diaspora abroad. In the event of a conflict, a large part of these people are likely to become refugees. We must be ready and the state must offer them the best conditions", Vice-President Yotova said, the correspondent of the BNR Zdravka Maslyankova informed.
