The "No Nazis in the Streets" march, which passed through the streets of Sofia, took place instead of the later announced Lukov March which is organized by far-right nationalist movements, BTA reported. The civil protest against Lukov March also aims to draw attention to the wider issues that allow such events and Nazi groups to be part of the public space and their appearances to be accepted in society.
According to the organizers, the march is also a token of solidarity with all minority groups, victims of hate crimes, homophobic violence, sexism, anti-Semitism.
Participants in the event said they did not agree with Lukov March presenting itself as a patriotic event for people with traditional values and that neo-Nazis have no place in society or on the streets.
Despite the categorical ban on the Lukov March by the Sofia Municipality, the court gave permission for the march to take place in the late afternoon.
