The streets in Bulgaria’s capital city must remain free of acts, incompatible with the values, traditions and interests of the Bulgarian people. Anti-Semitism, racism, intolerance, discrimination and hate have no place in Bulgaria, reads a position by the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with the planned so-called Lukov March, planned for tomorrow in Sofia. According to the Foreign Ministry, events of this kind are harmful to the image of Bulgaria, presenting it, undeservedly, in a negative light and pulling attention away from the traditionally tolerant nature of our society.

Earlier today, We Continue the Change, the Bulgarian Socialist Party and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms also opposed “the holding of Lukov March, as well as of any neo-Nazi and pro-fascist initiatives on the territory of Bulgaria".

Lukov March is a torch procession commemorating General Hristo Lukov, leader of the legionaries, one of the fascist organizations in Bulgaria in the years of World War II.
