Bulgaria’s National Assembly marks 143rd anniversary

National Assembly Speaker Nikola Minchev congratulated the MPs on the occassion of the 143rd anniversary of the Bulgarian Parliament.

"143 years ago today, the First Constituent National Assembly was convened in the Third Bulgarian State. This date is special for our country, because it marks the beginning of several key processes. The dream of Bulgarians to live in a free state came true. Establishing a Parliament was equal to a revolution for that time", Nikola Minchev said. In his words, this was a courageous act towards the modernization of the country.
