24.7% coronavirus positivity rate in Bulgaria in past day

8,140 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Bulgaria in the past 24 hours out of 32,974 tests performed, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show. 24.7% of the tests have returned positive result. 

6,274 patients are being treated in hospital, as 625 are in intensive care units. 892 people have been admitted to hospital in the past day. 82.85% of the new hospitalizations are among the unvaccinated. 98 people with established coronavirus infection have died in the past 24 hours. 91.84% of them were not immunized. 7,677 patients have been reported cured.

The highest number of new cases were reported in Sofia- 1,610, followed by Burgas-905, Varna-821 and Plovdiv-807.

7,616 vaccines were administered in Bulgaria on Tuesday. 2,017,293 is the number of people with a completed vaccination cycle in the country. 640,275 people have had a booster shot.
