Donations worth BGN 3,070,000 (over EUR 1.5 million) were collected during the 19th edition of the Bulgarian Christmas charity campaign. This is the highest amount raised in the last 15 years, the presidency press service reported.

"Despite the economic, social and health crisis, people are responding more and more to charity initiatives," said President Rumen Radev, under whose patronage the Bulgarian Christmas is being heldAccording to Radev, however, charitable initiatives should not cancel the state's commitment to children's health and they serve to show the need for urgent measures in Bulgarian healthcare.

The funds raised will be used to purchase modern high-tech equipment for precise diagnostics and modern treatment of children.
