Proposal to rename Musala Peak rejected

Baba Marta Beach, Malak Sechko Cove, Golyam Sechko Cove, and Sabin Point are some of the names given to geographical sites in Antarctica and approved by a decree of President Rumen Radev. The naming of 10 sites in Antarctica was approved by the President, following the recommendation of the commission assisting him in naming sites of national importance and settlements.

Once again, the proposal to change the name of Musala Peak to St. Ivan Rilski was rejected, as renaming the highest peak in Bulgaria and the Balkans would require a wide range of consultations. The proposal to restore the old name of Shipka Peak, which used to be St. Nicholas in the past, was also rejected.
