Investments in gas exploration in the Bulgarian Black Sea economic zone have reached 425 million euros. The Ministry of Energy has information that after three unsuccessful drillings the exploration companies hope to find gas deposits in the fourth well, because geologically it would be strange to have similar deposits in Romania and Turkey, but not in Bulgaria.

In an interview with bTV, Minister of Energy Alexander Nikolov denied information that there were "gas rivers" in the "Khan Asparuh" sector, as previously announced. What the ministry has done so far is finding an additional investor for a final study that would show whether there was natural gas in the sector, the minister said.
