Bulgaria's Minister of Health Asena Serbezova has set up a working group, which will urgently review the current medical standard in the specialty "Emergency Medicine", in order to effectively implement the activities of providing emergency medical care
The reason for this was the death of a 43-year-old woman in the Vratsa hospital. A video shared on social media shows the woman collapsing after having to wait for 40 minutes at the registration desk of the hospital without being provided medical aid.

Serbezova described as inadmissible the fact that bureaucratic requirements should take away the chance to live for a person in a situation where every second is invaluable.

Pre-trial proceedings have been instituted in the case and inspections are underway.

People from Vratsa organized a protest in front of the building of the Emergency ward of the hospital in Vratsa.
