25% coronavirus positivity rate in Bulgaria in past day

6,630 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in the past 24 hours out of 26,541 tests performed, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data indicate. Nearly 25% of the tests have returned positive result. 77.5% of the new cases are among the unvaccinated.

The highest number of new infections was reported in Sofia-2,039, followed by Burgas-686 and Plovdiv-584.

5,216 patients are being treated in hospital, including 547 in intensive care units. 258 Covid-19 patients have been admitted to hospital in the past day. 82% of the new hospitalizations are among the unvaccinated.

32 people with established coronavirus infection have died. 81% of the Covid-19 related deaths are among the unvaccinated. 1,249 people have been reported cured in the past day. There are 200,978 active cases of Covid-19.

3,737 vaccines were administered on Saturday. 1,975,836 is the number of people in the country with a completed immunization cycle. 567,878 have had a booster shot.
