Bulgaria reports 1,716 new coronavirus infections with 73% of them among unvaccinated persons

Bulgaria has registered 1,716 new cases of coronavirus out of 13,567 tests performed, according to data from the Unified Information Portal. Over 12% of the samples gave a positive result. 73% of the new infections have not been vaccinated. The highest number of new cases is in Sofia - 698, in Varna - 212, and in Blagoevgrad - 108. 


There are currently 128,857 active cases of Covid-19 in Bulgaria. There are now 5,056 patients in hospital as 511 of them are in intensive care units. 

40 people have died in the past day as over 82% of them have not been immunized. 6824 doses of coronavirus vaccines were given yesterday. 

A total of 1,941,571 people in Bulgaria have completed the immunization cycle as 388 644 also have received a booster dose.
