On January 6, Bulgaria celebrates the birth anniversary of Bulgarian national hero Hristo Botev. Born in Kalofer in 1848, he emigrated to Wallachia because of his love of freedom. He worked in the newspaper "Dunavska Zora", moved from town to town, and in 1872 near Bucharest, he temporarily lived with the revolutionary leader Vasil Levski.
