There is no time to lose and soon the Ministry of Finance must submit the budget for 2022, the chairman of the parliamentary economic committee Martin Dimitrov told BNR. The new budget will also lift the moratorium on electricity prices.

"Due to the economic turmoil associated with the pandemic, it is normal to have a budget update. "People should not be surprised or afraid of such updates in the middle of the year," he said.
Regarding the issue of high natural gas prices, Dimitrov commented that since Bulgaria was now buying one fourth of the quantities needed from Azerbaijan at a lower price, we must do everything possible to continue this by completing the gas pipeline to Greece, which could be used for gas deliveries also from other countries.
