For the first time since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, Bulgarians in Istanbul gathered for a Christmas Mass at the Bulgarian St. Stephen's Church. The service was led by Metropolitan Cyprian of Stara Zagora, who is also a representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. The church was built in 1848 and was consecrated by Exarch Joseph in 1898. The church is made of prefabricated iron elements, hence its nickname - the Bulgarian Iron Church.
