Bulgaria has the second-highest Covid-19 mortality rate in the world

Bulgaria has the second-highest Covid-19 mortality rate in the world, data of Worldometer indicate. With a population of 6,871,522 people, Bulgaria has reported 4,410 Covid-19-related deaths per 1 million people. Peru tops the global Covid-19 mortality ranking. With a population of 33,646,454 people, this country reported 6,014 Covid-19 deaths per 1 million people. A total of 30,359 Bulgarians with established coronavirus infection have died since the beginning of the pandemic. 

The number of Covid-19 related deaths exceeds the number of victims during World War 2 and the repressions after September 9, 1944. The highest daily Covid-19 mortality was registered on November 8 this year, when a total of 334 Covid-19 related deaths were reported in Bulgaria. Meanwhile, this country has the lowest vaccination rate in Europe - 27%.
