We have a lot of dubious samples for Omicron from Sofia laboratories and hospitals. We will be able to confirm the samples we received now after the New Year, the director of the Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases Prof. Iva Hristova told the Bulgarian National Radio.

We are working on the issue. Then we will be able to confirm or reject our doubts, said Prof. Hristova. She clarified that suspicious samples were processed with priority, but there was no proven case at the moment.

An owner of a large chain of laboratories has announced that Omicron is already in Bulgaria and they have identified 6 samples of the new variant of Covid-19.
