Judicial reform is a mandatory precondition for Bulgaria's progress under EU's Recovery and Sustainability Plan, Justice Minister Nadezhda Yordanova told BNR.

The problem with the chief prosecutor cannot be postponed, the minister said. The reform of the anti-corruption commission will be a priority. Its powers will be strengthened, but it will also be ensured that they are not abused.

The second goal is to amend the Judiciary Act and the Criminal Procedure Code in order to appeal the prosecutor's refusals to investigate.

The third task is to elect a new judicial inspectorate.

The ruling majority wants to push through constitutional changes for the work of the prosecutor's office, said Yordanova.
