The candidate for Prime Minister from "We Continue the Change" Kiril Petkov has presented the composition and structure of the Council of Ministers, which will be proposed for voting in the National Assembly on Monday, December 13. The opposition GERB party has already expressed its opinion that it will not support the candidate ministers.
In the future Council of Ministers, each coalition partner has a deputy prime minister and there are two members of the party, holder of the mandate. The future Council of Ministers consists of a total of 22 ministers, some of whom are members of the current caretaker government. As it became clear earlier, Kiril Petkov has been appointed Prime Minister. Assen Vassilev has been nominated for Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; Boyko Rashkov remains Minister of the Interior and Minister of Education continues to be Nikolay Denkov, while caretaker Prime Minister Stefan Yanev becomes Minister of Defense. The current BSP leader Korneliya Ninova has been nominated for Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Industry.
Kalina Konstantinova (We Continue the Change) has been nominated for Deputy Prime Minister for Effective Governance. Previously she was Minister of Economy in the caretaker government of Stefan Yanev. Grozdan Karadzhov (ITN) has been nominated for Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development and environmentalist Borislav Sandov (DB) becomes Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment and Waters. Prof. Asena Serbezova (We Continue the Change) has been nominated for Minister of Health. Atanas Atanasov of the same party has been nominated for the position of Minister of Culture and Georgi Gyokov (BSP) is to become Minister of Labor and Social Policy. Ivan Ivanov and Hristo Prodanov (both from the BSP) have been nominated for heads of the Ministries of Agriculture and Tourism, respectively. Nikolay Sabev (We Continue the Change) has been nominated for Minister of Transport. The Ministry of Growth and Innovation will be headed by Daniel Lorer (We Continue the Change), who together with Kiril Petkov and Assen Vassilev teaches at the Center for Applied Research and Innovation in Natural Sciences and at the Center for Economic Strategies and Competitiveness at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski”.
