The authorities in Bulgaria are considering stricter anti-epidemic measures in Bulgaria, if the test for Covid-19 which is suspected to be from the Omicron variant turns out positive. This was stated by the acting Deputy Minister of Health Toma Tomov.

Samples with suspected variants are currently being tested at the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases. In parallel with the testing, the contact persons are being sought, the Deputy Minister added.
Asked whether it is true that Bulgarians who have been vaccinated abroad have a problem with setting a booster dose in Bulgaria, Tomov said that this problem is being actively worked on, BGNES reported. According to him, a number of letters have been received in recent weeks in this regard.
