The proposed future Minister of Finance Asen Vassilev has announced on Facebook that the party "We continue the change" will increase the maximum insurance income in the country. Now insurance is due only on salaries up to 1,500 euros per month. Anything above this amount is not taxed. According to Vassilev, the maximum insurance income is at its lowest level since 2007.

The Bulgarian IT sector has stated that raising taxes will drive away their specialists abroad. "They are the main core of the nascent middle class that is so indispensable for the sustainable development of Bulgaria. In our country it is 5%," companies in the industry say in a latter. They point to the fact that currently the number of Bulgarians who pay social contributions on salaries up to 1,500 euro is 188,820 people. Of these, 47,335 are employed in the IT sector.
