The Bulgarian coordinators for the European Citizens' Initiative for the prohibition of bee-harming pesticides have submitted a petition with this request to Bulgaria's Ministry of Regional Development today to adopt a ban on such pesticides. The petition is expected to be considered in the European Parliament early next year.

The European Citizens' Initiative is held under the slogan "Save Bees and Farmers!", said the chairwoman of the Bioproducts association Albena Simeonova. She said the goal was to collect more than 1 million signatures across Europe. Bulgaria has managed to collect 5,000 signatures, BNR reported.
