Bulgaria registers higher number of inbound and outbound tourist trips in October

In October this year, despite the coronavirus pandemic, the number of Bulgarians travelling abroad has increased by 5.4% compared to the same period in 2020, according to a study by the National Statistical Institute. This means that nearly 519,700 people have left the country. 

Visits of foreigners to Bulgaria in the same period were also higher in number compared to last year by 35.4%. About 567,600 foreign nationals stayed in Bulgaria in October. Most of them were EU citizens. Romanians, Greeks and Germans have shown the greatest interest in Bulgaria. 
Among foreign visitors outside the EU countries, the most numerous are visitors from Turkey
