The media in North Macedonia are following the elections in Bulgaria very closely, North Macedonia’s journalist Vladimir Perev told Radio Bulgaria of the BNR. In his words, the media in this country are waiting for the election results and are hoping that relations between Bulgaria and North Macedonia will improve soon.

They are expecting changes in Bulgaria’s position regarding the veto on the start of election talks between Skopje and the European Union. They are also hoping for changes in the Bulgaria-North Macedonia relations, which are currently at a historical low.

The weather in North Macedonia’s capital today is relatively warm and sunny which favors voter turnout. Polling stations were opened at the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje, as well as in the towns of Štip, Strumica, Bitola and Ohrid. This time, Bulgarians will be able to vote in polling stations in Prilep and Kavadarci. High voter turnout has been registered today. The number of voters going to the polling stations in the afternoon hours is higher, Vladimir Perev noted.

“Voting in North Macedonia takes place via paper ballots”, Vladimir Perev said. Election day in this country is proceeding normally, without any incidents, interruptions and provocations. Vladimir Perev forecasted that voter turnout could be even higher at a possible Presidential runoff next Sunday.
