The EU prize for literature, 2021 was awarded to Bulgarian writer Georgi Bardarov at an official ceremony at the Flagey cultural centre in Brussels.
In 2015 he won the intellectual reality TV show on Bulgarian public service TV BNT The Manuscript and released his first novel I Am Still Counting the Days. His second novel Absolvo Te came out at the end of 2020, occupying top positions in bookstore rankings in Bulgaria.
The ceremony in Brussels was attended by the other laureates from a total of 13 countries. On stage Georgi Bardarov read an excerpt from his book and took part in a debate with the other award-winning authors.
