“Soon it will not be possible to treat any urgent cases which are not Covid-19,” said Dr. Ivan Martinov, head of the invasive cardiology ward at Pirogov emergency hospital in Sofia in an interview for BNR. “If patients need orthopedic or cardiological help there will be nowhere they can be admitted.”
Dr. Martinov called for a lockdown to be put in place soon, and for the focus to be turned away from vaccination. He explained that people crowd together while they wait to be vaccinated which only helps the spread of the virus. In his words there are tens of thousands of medical staff engaged in treating the more than 100,000 coronavirus patients. That is why he urged the public to stop their irresponsible behavior and not to tempt fate.
