Boyan Stankov-Rasate, who carried out an attack on Saturday night at a Sofia-based LGBT centre, has been detained for 72 hours, according to the state prosecution. The prosecution will ask the Sofia City Court to keep him in custody permanently. The detention took place with the permission of the Central Election Commission, because Stankov is a presidential candidate.

In the presence of an official lawyer, the accused was charged with breaking into the centre and causing minor bodily harm on hooligan motives. The prosecutor's office reminds that Boyan Stankov, who has not pleaded guilty, has a previous conviction for such acts.
