At the backdrop of the Covid pandemic, a serious rise in the number of abandoned pets has been registered in Bulgaria. At the same time, the number of adopted dogs has increased by 22.5% compared to 2019 and by over 30% compared to 2018. There are 54 registered shelters for stray dogs in this country.
