Biggest number of newly infected and dead since start of fourth Covid wave

The new coronavirus cases in Bulgaria reached 5,863 in the past day. 11.3% of 51,688 tests were positive. 86.58% of the newly infected are non-vaccinated citizens, according to the portal coronavirus.bg.

The highest number of deaths since the start of the fourth wave of the epidemic has been reported - 243 people, as 96% of them were non-vaccinated. Bulgaria ranks fifth in the world when it comes to coronavirus mortality, according to Worldometer statistics.

The number of registered coronavirus patients has reached a total of 82,910. Newly hospitalized patients are 1,379 as 90.72% of them are non-vaccinated. There are a total of 7,128 hospitalized patients as 608 of them are in intensive care. The number of recoveries in the past day reached 2022.

15,166 vaccines were administered on Monday. 1,448,683 people have already completed the immunization cycle.
