Pandemic has caused difficulties in treatment of 40% of patients with chronic diseases

Nearly 40% of patients suffering from chronic diseases in Bulgaria have had problems with access to diagnosis and treatment as a result of the coronavirus pandemic - delay or interruption of treatment, delay in diagnosis. This is revealed by the results of a survey by the sociological agency "Trend" among 1,007 respondents over the age of 18. 
22% of the respondents cancelled a medical examination, 16% - a visit to a hospital, 12% stopped or delayed therapy, 20% had problems with access to a general practitioner.
32% describe their access to health services during the pandemic as problematic. 
Two thirds of the respondents support an increase in the healthcare budget.
