We are in the midst of the fourth wave of Covid-19. After some retention, which we hoped was a plateau, we now see a slight increase in cases. This was commented to BNT by the Chief State Health Inspector Assoc. Prof. Angel Kunchev.

The healthcare system is still functioning almost normally. 340-360 per 100,000 is the morbidity in the country. Currently, Bulgaria is at the centre of this wave on the continent, Assoc. Prof. Kunchev added .
Anti-epidemic measures can always be tightened when it is necessary and justified, but it is quite painful, the expert said. The measures have made people very tired and nervous, many are starting to ignore the danger and are less inclined to make sacrifices for the sake of others, Kunchev added.
